Flip the switch, watch her fly

A total of 73 hours (over 3 days), 4 assistants, 14 cups of coffee, 817 yards of monofilament, 4 accidentally cut lines and one tired girl later…And the wave is rolling again!

One of the awesome UNC student assistants they gave me – Bre – Teddy and Erica aren’t pictured, but they were such a huge help!
And now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for, the dress is up and the wave is rolling!

It was such a delight to see this silk installation art piece back in action.

The gallery is only a few feet larger than the silk dress itself, which makes for a tight fit!

We all held our breath while we flipped the switch on to power up the machine that creates the wave! All was well, the silk wave was a delight…
